Business challenge
The client opted to transition from the Oracle Database 12c to the 19c version, alongside an upgrade of the applications reliant on this database. This presented the opportunity to migrate to a new infrastructure (change from RISC to x 86), with the goal of minimizing potential risks including financial losses due to system downtime, data loss, non-compliance, and security vulnerabilities
Solution
- Deployed Oracle GoldenGate solution to facilitate real-time data replication with uninterrupted service for business databases and applications.
- Utilised Oracle GoldenGate Veridata to enable continuous monitoring of replicated data for consistency validation in real-time.
Results
- Successfully migrated 11 databases, each containing over 10TB of data, seamlessly from the old to the new setup.
- Zero-downtime throughout the entire database migration process.
- No additional load from replication tools.
