MPC Interviews Kathy Crumley of Intel
Please state your name, title, company, and email address to provide to prospective partners and customers interested in receiving more information.
Kathy Crumley, Global Strategist, Partnership and Alliances at Intel Corporation.
How are you different than other brands in your space?
Simply put, Intel put the silicon in Silicon Valley.
For more than 50 years, Intel has had a profound influence on the world, driving business and society forward by creating radical innovations that revolutionizes the way we live and work while building a smart and connected world across a broad spectrum of industries.
How would you describe your value proposition to prospective customers and channel partners?
Intel is uniquely positioned to capitalize as the entire world becomes digital with partner-led, end-to-end solutions optimized and powered by Intel fortifying the go-to-market motions for fast-tracking innovation to the marketplace.
This is Intel’s superpower!
What recent milestone have you achieved and why is it significant?
Great question! I’ll answer from a business and a personal perspective, both involving my incredible employer, Intel.
First from the business lens–I have recently led the implementation and launch around a new global ecosystem expansion strategy where our geo-based market-facing teams are strategizing with our Distis, VARs, Resellers, and SIs to address and alleviate key pain points to fast-track a GTM bundled offer through the channel. While Intel’s hardware is naturally the foundation of the solution, other layers of the bundle will be the ISV’s robust software stack along with any managed, professional, or micro-services required.
The outcome is a scalable and production-ready solution bundle, infused and synthesized with Intel hardware and ingredients.
Now from the personal angle–if you’ve had a conversation with me, you know that I thoroughly enjoy my job at Intel! One of the absolute BEST perks of working at Intel is achieving ‘sabbatical’ status – and I’ve arrived! After working for Intel for seven years, you are awarded 8 paid weeks off in addition to your standard vacation time accrued and I’ll be booking my sabbatical in early 2025. Our oldest and firstborn is heading out of state to college this fall, and to tie into her NCAA lacrosse season that kicks off in February ’25, I’m planning to spend some time traveling to watch her and the team play throughout the country as well as book a couple of international getaways and escapes.
What near-term opportunities will 2024 present to you and your team?
The digital transformation is now! And we are experiencing this revolution in every industry vertical we support and activate. From AI PC to QSR digital menu boards, to Retail on-demand digital media campaigns to Health & Life Science innovations – Intel is at the center of it all. It’s such an exciting time to be working for a blue-chip, forward-thinking company like Intel.
It’s never been more compelling for retailers and merchants to Know Your Customer (KYC), and now with AI analytics powering consumer shopping and buying habits and behaviors, this invites one more sticky avenue for retailers to get closer to their customers with personalized content and ads, triggered in real-time and served on-demand.
Digital screens are everywhere, and Intel technology is woven throughout the ecosystem that is delivering this masterful outcome. The next time you are out shopping, dining or even rushing through the airport, know that Intel is proud to lead the industry into the transformational future.
What’s a key trend for your industry in 2024, and why do you think it’s important?
Based on the market insights and market needs we are cataloging from our partners, AI-enabled use cases such as consumer buying behaviors, back-of-house inventory, or supply chain calibration will continue to explode and be in extremely high demand.
Additionally, we are seeing an overwhelming demand for Edge Compute implementations to drive the on-prem workload consolidation story for optimized operational efficiencies for retailers and merchants. With each being horizontal strategies for Intel, you will continue to see clever use cases traversing multiple lines of business and industries in the future ahead.
