Ferne Glemby Sells CardPlus Empower After Nearly 30 Years; Pete Philomey Named CEO and Rebrands Company as CardPlus Merchant Services

Edgewater, NJ — After nearly three decades of leadership, Ferne Glemby, the longtime owner of CardPlus Empower, has officially sold the independent sales organization (ISO) to Pete Philomey, effective July 1, 2025. Under Pete’s leadership, the company has been rebranded as CardPlus Merchant Services.

Founded in 1996 by Glemby, CardPlus Empower has served businesses across the region with reliable, affordable merchant services. Glemby will remain involved in a reduced advisory capacity to support a smooth transition.

Philomey brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in the merchant services industry since 1986. His career includes a broad range of roles across the payments sector, giving him a unique perspective on what merchants truly need from their service provider.
