ETA Transact ‘25
by Tom McCole
It’s that time again to make the annual payment industry pilgrimage to Las Vegas for the ETA’s Transact Conference and Exhibition. Transact is the premier convocation for payment professionals representing card brands, banks, ISOs, ISVs, acquirers, gateway platforms, mobile wallets, and POS hardware vendors. Transact highlights the latest in payment innovations this year to include: AI-payment use cases, Soft POS, wearables, biometrics, MPOC, embedded banking and lots more.
The ETA started in 1990 with a handful of ISO’s operating under the moniker, BSA – Bankcard Services Association. The original members were focused on organizing to create a voice for the industry. Today, the ETA voice of the industry is heard by 500 member companies, legislators, thousands of payment professionals, and merchants and businesses in 30 countries and counting.
The Transact conference is an essential event for all payment professionals. First and foremost, the educational sessions provide ongoing insight into the latest payment and merchant service technologies. The keynote speaker this year is Mike Pell, who heads the Microsoft Garage in NYC. Mike will lead a session about his fourth dimensional view of “Visualizing Business as a Gamechanger for Payments.” There is an additional two full days of insightful educational sessions presenting what the future holds for the industry. To provide concentrated focus, the ETA has also created three interactive learning zones for deeper immersion into new ideas, technologies, and merchant service provider growth strategies.
Perhaps the best part of Transact is three days of networking with your peers and learning about the latest products and services that have come to life since last year’s event. The expo hosts nearly 150 hardware/software vendors, and service providers. The latest payment technologies are all represented on the expo floor for your review.
The proverb “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” does not apply to Transact. There is a golf tournament to start the event, along with a host of association and company receptions for mingling with the masses throughout the event. One other outstanding benefit is we will be in Las Vegas where there is never a shortage of entertainment!
SEE YOU AT ETA TRANSACT 25!
