It’s a Wrap on MPC23!
The 2023 Mobile Payments/Digital Commerce Conference in Atlanta has successfully concluded. And once again, the conference supplied relevant technology insights and future business trends from a wide spectrum of industry experts. The speaker and panel sessions covered topics ranging from banking security, real-time payments, digital wallets, SoftPOS contactless payments, and the ultimate move towards a cashless and cardless economy.
Attendees listened intently to the SoftPOS panels, sponsored by Discover Global Network. Three separate vendors detailed their individual market acceptance approaches for contactless payments at the point-of-sale. The implementation methods involved consumer-off-the-shelf (COTS) devices including smart phones, watches, and other wearables. The key takeaway was that transactions will occur in the cloud and will no longer requires legacy payment terminals that we use today.
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) sessions were also of great importance to the attendees. They wanted to know how the technology works as applied to FinTech’s, as well as how it would impact everyone’s employment moving forward. The panel assuaged most of the fears about employment continuity with an in-depth discussion of AI’s features and benefits and how humans are still necessary for the foreseeable future. Stay tuned!
The Expo featured multiple vendors offering host of products and services including POS software, next generation lending, buy now pay later, software testing services, chargebacks, payment networks, omni-channel auto dealership payments, and the Women in Payments Network.
The best thing about the conference for this attendee was the social networking with interesting people whom I might never meet anywhere else. The conference’s greatest gift to attendees is the ability to introduce people who can truly benefit from knowing each other in business and personally as well. Marla Ellerman is an absolute master of bringing people together at these events to share knowledge and build lasting relationships. No other conference event can match that value! See you next year!
